My name is Mark and I have spent the majority of my life working within the UK Hotel,Pub and Catering industry. I still love all aspects of the industry and enjoy exploring the tapas bars and and other food and drink outlets in Spain. I have lived in Spain for 5 yrs having set up a Poperty Management company in Menorca with my wife which we are still involved with.
Together with my daughter Victoria I completed the Trinity TESOL Certificate at Oxford House in Barcelona and have spent 3 years as a freelance teacher on Menorca. My daughter meanwhile now teaches full time at an Academia in Palma Mallorca.
12 months ago we bought a flat in Horta a region of Barcelona to the north of the town and have enjoyed exploring and getting to know better this vibrant city. The area is very peaceful but close to all facilities and within easy access of the centre and beaches.
I love watching and playing many sports especially soccer , rugby and tennis-I still practice tennis to a fairly good level and enjoy getting away for a few weekends of skiing in the winter months.
The family all enjoy the sea and are all competent water skiers.
My wife Wendy is a trained Fitness instructor and good cook who enjoys similar interests to the rest of the family. My son and daughter are intermittent visitors as are other friends of the family. We also provide accommodation for students spending time on short term training courses in the International language schools in Barcelona.
My teaching experience outside of my initial training involves Freelance teaching to all levels including businesses.
The ages of students I have been involved with range from 7yrs to 70 years. I have for three years run "Intercambio" evenings bringing together both Spanish and English learners keen to practice their skills and knowledge.
My business background involved me in the development and introduction of many new training initiatives especially related to the delivery of great Customer Service.
